40″ Combination Winch Bar

For almost all purposes within the trucking/logistics industry, Manual leverage tools known as “Winch Bars” (or “Trucker Bars” and “Tightening Bars”) are the primary/manual method for securing loads for transportation. Flatbed truck drivers use Winch Bars to tighten cargo straps down to the standards established by safety regulations by providing leverage through winches mounted on the trailer itself or sliding along its side. The manufacture of typical Winch Bars will most often take place out of heat-treated “High Strength” Steel that has been designed for maximum strength and durability so that they can take a tremendous amount of force and cannot easily be bent or broken. Winch Bars typically take the shape of a long cylinder and include a grip at one end for holding the bar and a tapered/rounded tip at the opposite end, which engages with the holes within the winch capston. Standard Winch Bars are primarily intended for the sole purpose of tightening winch straps to secure cargo. Standard Winch Bars have a mushroom-shaped or pointed tip that makes it easier for the driver to engage and disengage the bar from the winch capston. The other type of Winch Bar is referred to as a “Combination Winch Bar,” as it serves a dual purpose. The Combination Winch Bar includes a standard grasping end and tapered end, but typically has a “hollow” or “box shape” at the other end. This design allows the Combination Winch Bar to fit over the handle of a lever chain binder, providing the driver with leverage when snapping the binder closed or opening it back up.
